Here’s how you will make a difference

The Cloud and Web Development group deals with…

  • Frontend Development and Maintenance: You assist in the development and maintenance of web frontends (React, JavaScript/TypeScript). 
  • Supporting the Team with Programming Activities: You take on small programming tasks to integrate into the team and actively contribute to its success.
  • Quality Assurance through Testing and Automation: You contribute to quality assurance by testing web applications and identifying issues, defining and documenting test scenarios, and conducting manual tests and automating them using Cypress.
  • Task Engagement in an International Team: You collaborate in an international team and gradually take on more challenging tasks.
  • Utilizing Version Control Systems: You use version control systems like Git/GitLab for collaborative work.

What you bring to the table

  • Educational Background & Long-Term Interest: You are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field and are interested in a long-term position.
  • Technical Skills & Experience: You have experience in frontend development with React and TypeScript, and familiarity with tools like Storybook, VSCode, and version control systems such as Git/GitLab.
  • API & Backend Knowledge: You have experience working with REST APIs (knowledge of streaming APIs like gRPC is a plus) and a basic understanding of object-oriented Python programming.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing: You are interested in software quality assurance, test automation (e.g., with Cypress), and have a structured, detail-oriented working style with a passion for process optimization.
  • Language Skills & Teamwork: You have strong English communication skills (written and spoken) to collaborate effectively in our international, English-speaking team.

We will agree your start date and weekly working hours with you individually (as a working student 8 to 12 hours per week). You can reduce your hours before exams and increase them during semester breaks. You can flexibly determine the working days of your fixed-term employment contract. After your studies, there are attractive opportunities to join the institute on a full-time or part-time basis.
