Researchers at the Fraunhofer IIS Development Center X-ray Technology EZRT are developing modern cognitive sensor systems that are able to generate comprehensive data from test objects. Our research group on »Knowledge-based image processing and visualization« in Passau provides essential contributions for the (visual) analysis of computed tomography data to facilitate an in-depth understanding of our test objects.

What you will do

  • You support our software developers in the design and development of software components for new visualization and analysis software
  • You implement your own software modules (under our guidance) in the field of simulation, data analysis or visualization of computed tomography data
  • You gain initial experience in industrial X-ray computed tomography

What you bring to the table

  • You are currently studying computer science or similar
  • You have knowledge in the field of (object-oriented) programming (C/C++, or similar)
  • You are interested in familiarizing yourself with new, exciting topics in the area of visual analysis of large data sets
  • You have ideally gained initial experience in modern software development (e.g., CMake, Git)

Weekly working hours are determined by agreement. You can start from now on (as a student assistant from 10 to 20 hours a week or as an intern for a period of at least three months ). You can reduce your hours before exams and increase them during semester breaks. You can flexibly determine the working days. After your studies, you have the option of working with us full or part time.

We would be happy to offer you the opportunity to write a bachelor's or master's thesis in cooperation with us in the above-mentioned subject area. The thesis will be assigned and carried out in accordance with the rules of your university. For this reason, please discuss the thesis with a professor who can advise you over the course of the project.
