The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.de) currently operates 76 institutes and research facilities in Germany and is the world's leading organization for application-oriented research. Around 30,800 employees work on the annual research volume of 3 billion euros.

In the »Integrated Sensor Systems« department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, we work on a wide range of sensor technologies for a wide variety applications. For example, we are developing multispectral image sensors that can be used in agriculture to detect weeds. This enables selective pest control and saves on pesticides. Our magnetic field sensors are used, in washing machines, for example, to detect imbalances. In this way, they ensure that water and detergents are saved. Our innovative wide-bandgap semiconductor sensors enable highly sensitive environmental sensors for measuring air quality.

Would you like to pass on your experience in IC design to young professionals and share the fascination of circuit development through our exciting applications?

Then have a look at our job offer!

What you will do

Your research and development activities will focus on the design of analog circuits for complex mixed-signal ASICs and integrated sensor systems. Furthermore, you will support our young IC designers during their start into professional life through goal-oriented mentoring. With your experience, you will support newcomers in developing into professional IC designers. Together with your young colleagues, you will work on the specification, design and verification of ASICs and typical function blocks like PGAs and ADCs.

In addition, you will support or take over the technical project management in development processes or design key components yourself. In your projects, you will be supported by our team in the areas of project management, evaluation, and series production transfer.

What you bring to the table

  • University degree in electrical engineering, physics, or in an equivalent engineering or scientific field
  • At least 10 years of professional experience
  • Profound knowledge in analog or mixed-signal circuit design in CMOS
  • Experience in using simulation and layout tools
  • High degree of independence and personal responsibility
  • Good written and spoken English and German skills

Ideally:

  • Experience in technical project management
  • Structured and team-oriented way of working
