Our audio department in Erlangen is working on audio signal processing.

What you will do

We adapt your tasks individually to your skills and interests. Here are some options:

  • You support our team in the fields of analytical signal processing and supervised learning, which are especially relevant for neuronal networks.
  • You take over tasks to continuously improve the audio quality and as a part of the team you further develop psychoacoustic models and evaluate the improvements with listening tests.
  • You further develop the most recent audio technologies and intelligent audio compression techniques and support us to enhance the computational capabilities of our codex.

What you bring to the table

  • You are studying electrical engineering, information technology or informatics, mathematics, physics, or a similar subject.
  • You are interested in audio signal processing and psychoacoustics.
  • You are highly motivated to dive into complex new tasks and to find innovative solutions.
  • You have excellent English and well-developed communication skills.
  • Ideally, you already gathered first experience in the fields of digital signal processing and audio technology and also have some programming skills (e.g., with Python, MATLAB).

Weekly working hours are determined by agreement. You can start from now on (as a student assistant from 8 to 20 hours a week or as an intern for a period of at least three months). You can reduce your hours before exams and increase them during semester breaks. You can flexibly determine the working days. As part of our team, you will work on-site at our institute in Erlangen. This will give you the best possible insights into our research environment and you will experience the daily research routine first-hand. After your studies, you have the option of working with us full or part time.
