We, the »Embedded Audio Processing« group, contribute to developing new audio signal processing algorithms and work with you to we make products successful by thinking pragmatically and getting things done.

About us
The »Audio for Embedded Systems« department is part of the »Audio and Media Technologies« division, best known for its work on MP3 and AAC. We develop software for and together with world-leading broadcasting and streaming companies. Nowadays, virtually all electronic consumer devices, computers, and mobile phones are equipped with systems and technologies made in Erlangen. Constantly adapting to the demands of the market, the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in Erlangen, Germany develops technology that creates memorable moments.

What you will do

  • You will design, implement, and maintain projects of highly efficient embedded software using C/C++ and assembly.
  • Interact with research teams to assist finding optimal solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of software kits for innovative audio products.

What you bring to the table

  • University degree in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or another related field
  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills for real-time embedded applications and fixed-point arithmetic
  • Experience in optimizing, maintaining, testing, and quality assurance of existing C/C++ code/software 
  • Basic knowledge of signal processing, especially audio signal processing
  • Proficiency in written or spoken German or English

The position is initially limited to 2 years with the aim for subsequent extension. The weekly working time is 39 hours.
