Immersive media formats such as light-fields or volumetric video give users new possibilities to experience content and participate in virtual events in a more involved and intuitive way. Depending on the captured data, a user can then even walk around the scene with six degrees of freedom (6DoF). To that end, however, the usage and placement of capture devices in the scene are critical and the processing and rendering are crucial for achieving the highest possible quality and immersion. Therefore, we strive to develop new technologies that lead to an increased image and video quality, offer new creative options, and even improve today’s production workflows.

You are interested in photography / photogrammetry and/or 3D reconstruction and want to help shaping the media production of the future?

What you will do

  • You will capture in- and outdoor scenes with various capture devices (DSLR camera, multi-camera arrays, and a LiDAR scanner)
  • You process the captured data sets with photogrammetry tools to reconstruct 3D models
  • You will build up your and our expertise in best practices on capturing, scanning and 3D reconstruction
  • You document all captured datasets, reconstructed models and conducted experiments properly

What you bring to the table

  • You are currently studying media production, electronics engineering, computer science, information and communication technologies or a related field
  • You have experience in a programming language such as Python or MATLAB
  • You are creative when it comes to defining scenes for the capture
  • You have a basic understanding of media production and/or image processing
  • Ideally you are familiar with tools like Blender, Unity, RealityCapture, Houdini, etc.

What you can expect

•    Flexible working hours
•    Open and friendly team work
•    Varied tasks with room for creativity
•    Exciting seminars and events
•    Networking with scientists
